Poem Commentary

In loving someone, there are no absolutes... sometimes you have to step away to see where you are and what why and how you got there. 9 times out of 10... love did not take you there!

Love  is but a word; defined as many times  differently by the many who use it. Love is not a problem solver, love is not a solution to your problems... love is merely the end result of two, as they define it.

As You Journey Through The Depths Of My Soul…

I think the loneliest moments that my life has known, was the day you turned and walked away… asking me to leave you alone

There are many words that I could say, yet there aren’t enough words that could explain the feelings you’ve left me with in the aftermath of a broken heart

There are no words to explain my emotions; so I’ll open to you my heart and soul… and ask you to enter with understanding, gentleness; please listen to and feel my story unfold

As you journey through the depths of my soul, walk among my memories and dreams, then and only then you might understand my silence… in the devastation of losing a friend

Now observe the pieces of broken heart, as you travel to that special place deep within my soul, yes right there; and recall the time when you came into my world… after all my happiness and joy had been stole

As you journey through the depths of my soul, turn back to the time, when I needed someone to confide and believe in; and you touched my broken spirit with your eyes

Gently turn the page and you’ll find… your expressions of trust and faith which truly gave me hope;  and you showed understanding during a time of mistrust, because of your caring acts… I began to believe

As you journey through the depths of my soul, find that chapter deep within me, and remember how… when I needed someone to share my sorrow and pain with, you gave of yourself and showed me the other side of life

And as you read on, you’ll discover that when I needed someone to love, your friendship and patience allowed me to first begin liking and loving myself, because of you… I began to believe and share and love again

As you journey through the depths of my soul, in reaching your destination, look at the place where you hurt me; now

I’d ask that you’d pick up the shattered memories, broken promises and torn dreams left in this corner; so that my soul and spirit could be cleansed and my heartaches released… at last set free—

Such well spoken words that expressed so clearly the devastation that arise when you love someone so deeply and they leave you, i've been thru this and it caused me to go into a depression like i've never know before and it makes you think about really truly baring your heart and soul to someone else, people don't realize that they have your life in their hands sometimes and if you're not mentally strong enough it can really cost you your life. I truly believe that this is why god says that love is the greatest fruit of the spirit.

you are so true; often we believe because our love and intentions are genuine... that the person we're loving will return our feelings in kind; not true. love is bittersweet; if it weren't i would have only fallen in love once in my life. the pain of losing is too great to share. thanks for your most profound insight. thejazzpoet

i'm at a point in my life where i want to tell someone to leave me alone. :( it's a sad time

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
