    Aspects Of Love

Love can roar in like thunder

    Tear you asunder

    And leave you in flames

Love can slide in like satin

    Soft as a matin

    A gentle caress

    Love can be breezy

    So nice and easy

    A child at play

    Love can be passion

    It’s always in fashion

    A strong heart for that

    Love can leave you smitten

    Purring like a kitten

    Cream on its whiskers

Love can swoop in and haunt you

    Tease you and taunt you

    Love loves playing games

    Sometimes love hurts

    A fragile heart bursts

    And withdraws in pain

    If love brings you pain

    What do you gain?

    Safer to guard your heart?

No, it’s love you must choose

    Better to love and lose

Than never to love at all

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
