    At First Glance

The room was crowded, he was unaware
The noise level was piercing, he did not care
For across the room was a beautiful sight
His eyes would not move the rest of the night
At first glance he was startled
    Am I dreaming, he pondered
From that point on, his glance never wandered
An angel had dropped, from the heavens above
To answer his prayers, to find his true love
His heartbeat quickened,Hands clammy and cold
A nervousness feeling began to unfold
All of a sudden, her glance caught his eyes
    The angel was suddenly mesmerized
Neither one made a move the rest of the night
    They just stood there amazed
    And admired the sight.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
