    Beautifully maddened

    Beautifully maddened by the effects
Of all the years gone by
    With their promises and opportunities,
    Lost to the whirlwind
Of her other cures and kisses
    I cower in silence
    In ravine cowardice
    Under her rescriptive embrace
    Yet solitude recites-
    Singing praises,
    Pretending not to see
    What I hide so carelessly.

    ...A broken HEART

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
