Birth Order Blues

Birth Order Blues

You say we are so many colors
I say we are simply shades of gray

So I gather tiny thoughts beyond your forehead
To reserve for next time's jab contest

You set the stage
I play the part
For an audience who only knows me
Through you

And I'll never win their love
Or gain status in your ego design

Your moments will always define me
Because their yours

And it's not like you to share the light
Or let the light shine

This is so tragic, without being angry or pitying, and is a delight to read as a result. I loved the lines "For an audience who only knows me Through you" Wow, fantastic job.

thanks Arron!

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
