~BLESS THE CHILDREN~

~BLESS THE CHILDREN~

We take for granted everyday,

the blessings God has sent our way;

As spoiled brats, we want much more,

than what was given by the Lord.

~

Upon our Television screens,

are adds of children, all in need;

We tend to turn our backs on them,

ignoring everything that’s said.

~

Believing others hear their plea’s,

our conscience is somehow appeased;

Yet in our heart of hearts we know,

most of these children won’t grow old.

~

It only cost but cents per day,

to help a child in dismay;

I too turn of my T.V. set,

without remorse, with no regrets.

~

I wonder, if they all were mine,

would I be begging for a dime;

And then the answer set me free,

I’d pray for you, and them, and me.

I realoly like this poem, by the way Grandma you sure look good for a grandma, so let your passions go wild, this is a very nice poem, this could be a very nice ballad as a song also! Congratulations! grecowong@yahoo.com
