Born To Be A Queen
I was born to be a Queen
To live in the house of a King
But, I found myself
With rats and roaches
While sweeping off
Wooden shack porches
For all my life
I’ve wondered why
God would place me
In such demise
Fighting daily for my life
Risking all just to survive
I know I was born
To be a Queen
Where everything in life
Is given to me
Servants and Handmaids
Serve at my feet
Oh, what a beautiful state
Life would be for me
“A Queen…that’s what I am…That’s Me!”
Then suddenly…REALITY
Brings me back to life
And I realize…”I’m not that Queen
at all in my Dreams”.
As I sweep again
Those wooden shack porches
My heart does bleed
With blistered sores
Onward daily
With broom and porches
I choose to live my life………
Dreaming that one day
I will be that Queen, that I lived daily, in my dreams!
