    Bright Color

    Bright Color

    The color’s bright
    paint ~ on the wall
    Summer’s inside
    Even through fall

    I push the brush
    hard to the white
    while inside my head
    begins the fight

    Why did I miss it?
    Why was I too late?
Too easy to think it was..
    ..no more than fate

    I wanted to be there
    I’d traveled all day
    Why did it have to..
    ..end in this way?

    Just to be able
    to hold his hand
    as he stopped breathing
    to pass from this land

    is all that I wanted..
    ..to be there for him
at the end of his lifetime
as the new one ~ begins

    I missed him by minutes
was it all meant to be?
    it wasn’t ~ it wasn’t
NO ~ not meant for me

    I needed to be there
    to feel his pain
    I needed to say things
    I’ll never again

    “I love you Dad”
    but he didn’t hear
    I was too late
yet I was ~ so near

    it tortures me inside
    I burn with despair
    I’ll never get over
    not being there

    I miss him so much
    my heart feels so black
    will my heart’s bright colors..
    ..ever come back?

IT'S NEVER TO LATE TO SAY WHAT YOU NEED TO SAY. HE'S ALWAYS LISTENING IN TO HELP YOU ALONG YOUR WAY. NO IT'S NOT THE SAME BUT IT'S STILL TRUE, AND HE WILL FIND SOME WAY TO ANSWER BACK TO YOU.

    it diffently killed me softly

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
