Catch 22 By: Taimi C. Rodriguez

Life was good for a little while
all of the blessings made me smile
all the while I didn't know
illness was about to stop my flow

I lost my job, the career I loved
unwillingly place in the disability club
you can't do this, you can't do that
your disqualified as a matter of fact

    Call 211 they can help
when I did I was told
that program is closed didn't you know

Anger came over me like white on rice
I got the run around, not once but twice
here I am in a system that sucks
and all I can think is what the F**K!

The world we know revolves around
programs guaranteed to let you down.....Catch 22!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
