CHRIST PAID THE GREAT PRICE

CHRIST PAID THE GREAT PRICE

We're not our own, you see
Christ paid a great price that day
When he hung on the cross
Bleeding and dying
For ALL the lost

He was beaten so bad
No beauty was there to see
They placed a crown of thorns on his brow
Blood streamed down his face

They stuck a spear in his side
Blood and water gushed out
See, he did ALL this for you and me
Of this there is no doubt

Then, he cried, " It is FINISHED! "
And gave up the ghost
They placed him in a borrowed tomb
And on the third day he arose

We were bought with a price, you see
For we owed a debt we could not pay
Christ paid the price that day
When he went to Calvary

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
