    Christian Man

I think about you all the time.
With sinful thoughts that enter my mind.

How i would love you in my bed.
Praying for wisdom to clear my head.

It's hard to be a christian man.
With lust and greed close at hand.

This pain i feel in my heart,
how long will it keep us apart.

For Jesus has washed our sins away.
A daily job from day to day.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
