    Christmas Angel

    Christmas lights winking
    Carolers out singing
    Trees standing in windows blinking
    Celebrating the birth of Jesus
    We couldn't know
He was looking down on us
    Desiring to bestow
    The best gift of all
    Early this Christmas morn
    With just one call
    Our hearts were torn
How could we give and receive
When someone dear had to leave
Then a thought touches our hearts
    Our beloved father and grandfather
Weary in body his spirit a little worn
Looks up and Heaven's gate parts
    Then an angel is born
With the wisest eyes and kindest smile
This is the best Christmas present
    He's received in awhile
    In future years
We'll celebrate at peace and joyful
The birth of our very own Christmas Angel
    He'll always be around
In the beauty of gentle falling snow
    And in every merry sound
    We'll remember his unique personality
With each flake that touches the ground
    So now we know
    In each Holiday season
    We can be thankful
God has given us another reason
    The most beautiful Christmas Angel

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
