    Contradictions

In the darkness of light I sit alone
Surrounded by strangers I’ve always known
Loved ones I hate without reason
Permanent emotions that change like seasons
Definite uncertainty of everything I know
I’ve grown so much by refusing to grow
    Simply complex to complicate simplicity
Definitions left undefined to be implied explicitly
Defining the indefinable so what’s implied is shown explicitly
Simplifying the complex to show its complexity
By choosing to grow I’ve never grown
Now certain of everything I’ve never known
Changing emotions stay constant as the seasons
Hated ones I love with good reason
In a deserted place, knowing exactly why I am confounded
In the light of darkness I sit surrounded
