    Dagger in my Heart

    When you left this planet,
    many people said,
    "that you're not really gone,
    nor far away, nor dead."

    I've heard it from many people;
    and I guess I believe it's true,
    that I should really be so grateful,
    for having so many years, of loving you.

    But sometimes that's hard to remember
    because in my reality,
    the only thing I have left of you,
    is a deep painful memory.

    I don't really know now,
    why, I'm writing this
    guess it doesn't really matter,
    it's you, your life, & presence I miss.

    Sometimes when no one's looking,
    there's a bloody dagger in my heart;
    & after the pain subsides, I realize
    I'm trying to turn my pain, into art.

    so very true we like to believe in the here after it sort of eases the pain as we go on with our life yet we at times forget that this maybe our heaven on earth as we live on this big blue marble

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
