Damaged But Not Broken
She hurts from tug of war,Stripped from all but pain...
Won't acknowledge the damage done,
And walks while showing no shame.
Days and nights lost sleep,
Her diagnosis mentally ill...
She's damaged but not broken,
Naked but holds her will.
Desperation plunges,
Think they'll truly take her down?
No one sees the smiles in her heart,
Can only see the face that bears a frown.
They've beat her to a pulp,
But she's proven to rise above...
Even through broken bones and bruises,
She's still capable of love.
Yes, she hurts from all the pain,
Her bruises are for real...
But she is not to be underestimated,
For she is now ready to heal.
Six men to one woman,
Odds for them unspoken...
She may be down and bleeding,
She's only damaged but not broken.
