    Deceitful Truth

Sitting here as I think about the past,
    how some people change,
    how life gets rearranged,
and the ones who didn't last.

So much in life that we take for granted,
    having someone to hold,
    when nights grow cold,
the ones we love we leave abandoned.

Could it be that we will never see true happiness,
the kind to make your heart stop,
    even make your knees drop,
but wait, will it ever come to this?

In reality we live in a world of lies and no trust,
    where hearts get broken,
    where truth is never spoken,
we live in a world of deceit and lust.

Will there ever be that one who will stick around,
    be there for your flaws,
    wanna be there just because,
who really knows they are out there waiting to be found

very well portrays the pursuit of happiness and the shallowness of some people along the way...lol! Excellent babe!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
