    Devour

There was a time i'd given anything to smile
Now id give anything to go back to that time
I'd do anything now to stop crying
I need a cig that will slowly kill me
I wonder why I crave something that'll keep me alive
I'm not hopeless, I just ran out of dreams
Laugh all you want, It never saved anyone
But if you were dying of thirst you'd devour my tears
Id devour your pain too if I had the chance

you shine such a bright light on what lies beneath...this is hard to do. i loved this very much , especially, " i'm not hopeless, i just ran out of dreams". wonderful and an easy, easy ten from "crush."

Wow this is crazy good! I like how you worded this. You show inner turmoil in a new light - 10 from me

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
