    Drops of Blood

Rain pours down like drops of blood,
It pours so fast it almost floods.
I feel each drop hit my hair,
My skin feels soft and very bare.
I try to make each moment last,
But each drop of blood brings back my past.
The rain slows down bit by bit,
I feel it's time for it to quit.
I sit down quick and with a sigh,
For it was not rain, but tears I cried.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
