Dry eyes

-Dry Eyes-

Ironic

Falling for the wrong woman

You want her to be the one

But deep down inside

Your hearts screaming the truth to you

What you both already knew

Finally fate corrects the error made

Bags are packed

After all the small battles to get them unpacked

She packs her things

Its stings

Ironic when all you want

Is the transition over

From a happy but brief chapter in life

Back to the void from which you came

Looking back on it all

Not a good path to go down

Feeling like trust was miss placed

Maybe even betrayed

There were feelings invested in a happy ending

A dream that was supposed to be a day in white

Instead an awkward sight

Getting smaller and smaller

In the distance she goes

Disappearing from everything you invested in her

Deep breath

Try to ignore the memories

The very things that made you smile about her

Trying to forget

Ironic when I wanted her gone

Now she is

Fate saved me from settling

Maybe even marrying the wrong one

From a lifelong mistake

Ironic she was the one who gave up

And I still wanted to fight

For a mistake I knew I had made

I know her absence is the right answer

For my life

But it still stings

Back to an empty house

Empty bed

Just me and my king

At least my Faith remains undamaged

And Jesus still Loves me

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
