Forbidden Fruit

Eve told Adam,
Prove that you love me,
Take a bite out of this fruit,
To taste it, will mean we'll be outcasts,
Hated by everyone,
Looked down upon by the world,
Never to be trusted again,
Cast out of this home forever,
Persecuted all the time,
Unforgiven,
Unloved,
Uncared for,
All you will have in this world is me,
Adam looked into Eve's eyes,
And without hesitation took the fruit,
With his eyes on hers,
He bit into the fruit,
And said...
Then I will have everything I need.

they were the only two who were they outcasts too?? they got to go together they had companionship and no one to judge them yet we spend two thousand yrs holding it against them... lucky they cant hear the way we talk about them they may feel a little slain and judged by everyone they never knew

The poem is allegorical. it is actually a poem i wrote for my girlfriend. Sure, the foundation is biblical, a comparison, but the theme is modern.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
