Forever and lways

I am still trying to understand why you had to leave,
I am trying so hard to be strong and not grieve.
I know where you are now your spirit is free,
but will I hear you when you call out to me?
Soar like an eagle and sing like the wind,
and when you are finished do it all over again.
Be all of the colors in the changing of leaves,
all of the scents that are carried in the breeze.
The brightest star shinning up high,
the crisp white snowflakes that fall from the sky.
Be whatever you always wished you could be,
all I ask is that once in a while you come back to me.
Will you still be my shoulder that I can lean on?
Cause no matter where or what you are I still need my mom.
I want to believe that you never went away,
I need to believe that you will be with me everyday.
So be the mist that blankets the ocean or the waves that playfully roll in the sea,
but please please mom every once in a while come back to me.
I will see you in my dreams while I quietly sleep,
Until we meet again, I love you forever and always but I know you were not ours to keep.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
