The Ocean

Churning, pushing, flowing in and out
Waves crash leaving me upside down
Moving swiftly through the ebb and flow
I find myself turned all around

In the depths of the ocean's floor
I am but a stranger to the sea
Schools of angelfish kiss my face
How long under the water can I be

Drifting, swimming, floating by
Colors dance in the rays of light
Gliding, dancing, floating surrounds
For me it's such a short flight

Bubbles rise, my time is up
Depart from angel's kiss
Yearning, longing for more time
In the ocean is what I will miss

The Haunted Sea

Two days of stark
on a wide, wide sea,
into bleak horizons
the ship sailed free.

Through day filled nights
and flightless skies
of loneliness
and tearless eyes.

Then the sea grew wider
as the sky shone pure
with painful sharpness
and silent fear.

Soon, fore to aft
the ship did spin,
and the sails they emptied
then filled again.

It listed port
then starboard, right,
and overturned
in the haunting light.

No sound, no sound,
from the tossing waves
for the screaming men
were the waters slaves.

And the crew still shriek
when the wind is flying.
It's loud with the sound
of brave men dying.

Re: OriginalPoetry.com 6/4/2009 Challenge

There is a reason why the sun sets,
The sky dims, but for the stars,
The cosmic mother of mood lighting…

Show me who decreed passion as a fire,
Who likened young hearts to steamy, hellish pyres!
I’ll show you either a fool or a liar.

Who can call passion hot,
When the sea is ripping at 20 knots
Towards nothing but a shore:
A soft, pale maiden who seems to call it home,
Laying herself out for her ready and roaring mister?

Like Destiny they meet,
But like Gravity retreat,
And have you seen the tides can drag out to sea?
Endearing mementos of an affair?

Does it not feel right, to lay with another in the night
Upon the sun-warmed sands, mother nature’s Rusk?
Perhaps ‘cause for years upon years, nature’s romantic gears
Get moving soon after dusk…
Amidst the star-kissed sands,
The sea breeze, a sweet champagne,
Beneath the moon, who silently croons
To the shore a sweet serenade

The relaxing ocean

The sound of the waves on a hot summers night
Makes me fall asleep
If only the ocean was the man of my dreams
my life would be all i want

The relaxing ocean sounds
Generally come at night
Where you can soar above the troubles
And hush away your fears

Never let the sound of the ocean
Make you more uptight
Let the sound of the resting ocean
Rest your mind and soul to delight

Deep in the sea within
lies a wrecked ship
That ship once sailed for love

The Ocean

How fortunate we are,
to be able to experience this world.
To leave all that we know,
and enter another realm.

Imagine being able to glide
through your environment.
To just drift effortlessly with a current,
being suspended in total comfort,
untethered form gravity.

Imagine how it feels,
to not just ride a wave,
but to be part of it.
To not just see the moon,
but to watch it glimmer off the surface.
To feel of the sun warmed water,
touching every inch of you.

My whole life I have known the feeling,
of the wind against my skin.
It has never been felt more strongly,
than when I leap from the ocean.

THE OCEAN

Mighty current splashing 'round
Lost in nothing but the sound
I close my eyes and take it in
And hope to wash away my sin

Bathing up to neck in suds
Buried soul beneath the flood
As far as eye can see the light
The horizon has no end in sight

Infinity and beyond, its line
Connects these waters to the sky
So what I shed within this wet
I hope the heavens will forget.

THE OCEAN

The ocean and all it's beauty
Nothing can compare.
The waves lashing out in anger
The water takes control
It can be so warming,
but can take ones life you know
It has treasures hidden
That man may never find.
But along it's beaches can be Heaven
It is in my mind.
To walk it's sandy beaches
And make Love upon it's shore
Who could want any thing better?
I couldn't ask for anything more!

The Ocean

If we're the ocean,
then I've been treading water.
These waves push and pull.

Bring on the next challenge!

The Ocean

Breathe!

As this creation
Exudes down the inner being of your finger tips,
The smell of salt relaxes underneath your skin,
No fear silence breaks as you float into an era
When ribs where created thru a nostril.

We lay light as a feather
The mind state of a dead man walking.
The blue clear energy brought to your skin
Penetrates to every bone in your body,
Trickling to your eyes as mushy green tickling stems
Rub against your arms floating your body into freedom.
We lay our heads down hoping to see a spirit.

Waves slowly push away
Tears drop to see a new you
As the waves splash against your body,
It was not the time for fire to come
God bless your body
As you step foot into
The Ocean.

The Other Reality

I'm raking leaves
combing the earths' hair
What's in the sea?
Is there something down there?
Can I really see the future?
Can I be blind for loving nature?
See the alien ride the dolphin
Watch the dolphin guide the alien

I combed mothers' hair
I hope she looks good for you
We're not to prepared
Maybe we're scared of you
Take away our fear
Make it disapear
Make us believe
Come down like leaves
See the alien ride the dolphin
Watch the dolphin guide the alien.

Re: OriginalPoetry.com 6/4/2009 Challenge

She is the begining,
and holds my soul.
I will lay against her sands,
as my eyes close,
and draw my last breath,
for the final time.
Just let me smell her salty
winds!
Just let me feel her
dew,
sprinkle tenderly upon
my naked body!
Leave, don't look back.
Her arms-
will take me home.

It's on my Bucket List!!

Re: OriginalPoetry.com 6/4/2009 Challenge

would a sand castle poem fit this category? Hope so because here it is.

MY LITTLE SANDCASTLE

Life is like a sandcastle.
Though I build and mold,
The tide is always there.
The thousands of grains,
Grains used for creation.
Slide away into the churning foam.
I ask and wonder how and why,
But no answer comes to me.
What significance does this hold
is there a hidden meaning?
If so, is it only a dream?
All the pain I feel inside,
It eats away at my soul.

Re: OriginalPoetry.com 6/4/2009 Challenge

One day those painted skies above the daring sea
Once let go by loved ones will open it's arms to me
I'll float away from all of my lifes sorrows
No more coming back they'll be no more tomorrows
You don't have to wait for that perfect wave
Let go and smile and know my hearts already saved

just some bull

the melting pot of all our seeds
the melding of all our deeds
the swirling mixture of all our thoughts
the life juice you drink that can give you the trots

the unifying force of all we need
the broiling cauldren so cold indeed
i cannot deny my longing to be
wetting my line in the endless sea

THE POET and THE SEA (Wikipedia researched)

The course? Out there.
From Sebutal at dawn
An eastern breeze licks leather backs
And by seven twenty they are gone.
Gulls complaining, carrousell overhead; the dipping spires
At home the dust grey embers evidence the shell
Of unstoked fires.

In a window by the sea a vagabond poet writes
Reluctant for his whoring in political constraints
Dressage is in his movement but a rapier pen is free
The satirist is on a roll, from as far as he can see.

His half closed eye, is on the day …
he mulls the wine within his head ;
Ah wine and words; his laughter
And their scorn? Ha! but a pillow for his head

Boxed in frame
The porpoise- ponies dance for him
Far out in yellow morning light.
While sailors drag for fishes
Till their shanked and moored tonight.

The maiden flings a lacy sock
Which drapes his tankard square
And solicits his affections from the shadows
- over there.
Quite dis-appreciated, for his wit beyond the main
Manual du Bocage is a just a flower in the rain

But life in it’s distractions with its intrigue and its guile
Will keep his mast with billowed sail if only for a while.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
