    Found in the Darkness

I was hiding in the dark,
    You turned on the light.
I ran away from the world,
You caught me in your arms.
My tears fell down my face,
You wiped them away with your sleeve.
You saw me in a crowd,
I tried so hard to blend in.
    I looked away,
    You pulled me back.
    I was scared,
    You helped me be strong.
    You took my hand,
To help me when others did not.
    The touch of your lips,
    Makes my heart race.
    Longing to be with another,
You found me in the darkness.
    My heart is yours,
    Never let me go.

What a beautiful poem with such a rich metaphor. May we all be found in the dark when we are alone by someone who cares. Thanks for sharing.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
