    Girlwoman

The worth of a golden heart you see reflected in the eyes of the girlwoman you can't help but love. You scowl and she smiles. You don't know how it happened but she touched your heart. Laughed with you untill you gave in. Scared beyond all belief you pull away, hoping she doesen't notice your metaphysical departure. Untill you see her look at you with those knowing eyes. Forgiving you for your fear, your denial. Feeling backed into a corner, you berate her. 'Don't love so easily and stop wearing your heart on you sleeve. I don't love you!' But you see, I am that girlwoman and I know all your fears. 'My love is mine to give' I say, 'don't be afraid of the pain, be afraid of the moments you lose because you let happiness pass you by.' Tears fill my eyes as I kiss your cheek. 'I love you reguardless.' My lips murmur as I take my leave and walk away.

Heartbraking, good poem, original, I gave it a 9

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
