    Home Away From Home

There are people living on the street
Having no job, no home, or family
Barely having the means to stay on their own two feet
So they beg and steal to keep a healthy body.

Sometimes they come off a little strong
    Put yourself in their shoes
You find out that their struggles are prolong
What if you didn’t have the right to chose?

Their socks and clothing are worn from everyday elements of nature
We are in the malls and grocery stores spending cash
Then we come outside and act so immature
All they needed is a couple of bucks to keep from digging through the trash.

We have a little change to give, but it isn’t enough
So we see them and turn in the other direction
So how can we think that other people don’t have it so tough?
Do you ever look at yourself for correction?

Hope one day their will be a cure
I know we see them walk pass us everyday
Seems to be all about money, but no heart for sure
We’re out having the time of our life without a word to say.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
