    Hunt me Down

Hunt me down, within the spaces of old memory,
Trace the footsteps of childhood within the soot of long gone history…
Hide with me, beneath the rain-wet bows of wintering,
See my bygone face within the new-burst land of spring…

Chase the tails of my silvered laughter, what once was new,
Align your fingers within the hands of time, eschew…
The visions your create; for falsified the simple things you do,
I have afore set down the rules, and will commence a-hunting you…

Sigh softly, beguiled dreamer, within the weavings of my past,
Do you understand the whispers that tantalizing- will not last?
Seek me still then wait, quivering, all entranced,
Never understand the music, footprints all in darkness danced…

Hunt me down, within the emptiness of antiquity,
    Chase the value of a long-gone ghost, well-bred infinity…
Crouch with me, behind the veiling of serenity,
Witness the stark devastation of Reality…

Sleep within the dreams of the once-was, and long ago,
There are too many yesteryears within my shadow…
Upon innocence’ illusion your lips’ touch bestow,
Your hand in mine, I will open every door; every darkness you will know…

Hunt me down, if you darling, dare,
Away into twilight, from the garish stain of flame, repair…
Catch hold, whisper to the waves, listen- and sweet love- beware,
I cannot, you cannot; the past unweave, only- share…
