I APPRECIATE YOU

I APPRECIATE YOU

I appreciate you my friend

You have been there, always

You have stood by me;

When there was no where to even stand

You have always found a way

To show your presence

When it was all gone, or so I thought

There you were with a smile…..

Beckoning me; “there is a way out my friend”.

I do appreciate you

When tears of sorrow had dried my face

You brought me water and said

“Wash your face my dear and cry now tears of joy”

When I thought it was finally over

You said to me, “life has just began for you, cheer up”

What more can I say of a friend like you?

For you have always shown me

The brighter light at the end of the darkest darkness

I do appreciate you.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
