I Cling

As the end brings a beginning I cannot comprehend
I rest and bathe in the bittersweet battle prize of truth
About me, love, life and God.
Yesterday is gone -
Hallelujia!

Today is a malaise of sunshine and trepidation.
And as I grip onto the slippery rope of tomorrow,
Not yet able to determine its promise,
I am clinging to this last whisper of wisdom:
"When all hope is lost
Cling to hopeless dreams."

And so now,
Facing an indiscernable road ahead,
Slippery rope in hand,
Through sunshine and trepidation,
I cling to whispers of wisdom.
And, with all of my strength,
I cling to hopeless dreams.
