    I Leave You My Heart

I don’t care what anyone says,
I don’t care what anyone does,
    We could joke for millennia
                            or banter ‘til doomsday;
But what none of that would change?
Is the wonder that is you….

You are one of the stars in my sky,
One of the ships on my seas,
You and your silly jokes - -
                  Your mercurial moods…
They leave smiles in my heart…

    That lantern in the dark
         That warmth in the cold
Somehow I know you’ve always been there
          Whenever I’ve felt alone.

You’ve an idea of the depths
            in which I’ve dwelt;
    But, “no matter” you say…
It’s my soul that you’ve felt.
    We’ve been so very close
And we’ve been so very distant
We’ve gotten lost in the Noise
           And, again,
           Somehow found our way.

    We’ve never been the same
    We’ve never been different
    What we have been,
            is sisters.

Our paths have crossed throughout our lives,
         and forked in separate directions.
    Yet despite all the years,
No one has touched me like you do….

But, if for some reason, I were
           to leave this realm,
    Irregardless of timing,
           I could not go silent…
To you I leave my heart,
You’ll treat it as your own,
To you, I leave my child,
         For you’d love him as I do…
To you, I leave this world
And all the love it can hold.
    I honor you.
May our children grow to realize …
         the Wonder that is You...

                           …I leave you my Heart…

What can I say? Very beautiful! Truly a reflection of how important some people are in our lives and how they come in and out through out our lives but we seem to remain close.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
