I SAW A STAR!

I SAW A STAR!

I SAW A STAR!

Have you ever felt discouraged,
Life's problems pressing in?
And when you searched for answers,
You found nowhere to begin.

I was feeling dismal,
Life's burdens weighted down.
It seemed there was no end,
To problems thick enough to drown.

Family, money, health and work;
It seemed they all were there.
I'd finally reached wits end;
They were more than I could bear.

Sick at heart, I pondered long;
Surely, there was more than this.
Was I doomed to an existence,
Without the slightest bliss?

In desperation I went to God,
Got down on my knees and prayed.
Hoping for an answer,
Ready for anything He said.

I heard then only silence,
And I thought my prayer had failed.
And then I saw it gleaming,
The answer had been mailed!

One tiny little star,
Of all those countless ones.
It seemed to beckon and gleam with hope,
And thrilled me to my very bones.

“Have you dared to dream today?”
The message was clear and strong.
“Don't let life's problems,
Silence your triumphant song!”

“Dream your dreams and set your goals,
There is no other way.
Then get out and go to work,
And listen to what I say.”

“There is in you a spirit,
So miraculous and bold.
I know because I put it there,
To give you strength untold.”

I marveled at this message,
So clear for all to see.
And at the very Grace of God,
Who answered and rekindled me.

Now I sing a different song,
So vibrant, strong and new!
Life now has new meaning,
Thanks to God's little star, and you.

Life will always have its problems it is good to have a place to draw strenght from to carry you through.

You have an amazing talent for rhyming in your poems coupled with a simple honesty that is refreshing as morning air. 10 from me.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.
