I WISH

I WISH

I wish I were little again
So I don't have to worry
About the thoughts of hurting,
a person who means so much
That a word like sorry wouldn't touch
A heart as grand as yours,
When you're little you don't care
When you thought going to bed early
Wasn't fair

But now I wish I hadn't grown,
Because being little was so much easier,
When now I have to think of you,
And everything you do
When I was little,
You were just a friend to me,
But as I got older,
There came maturity.
I started thinking about you more and more,
And then there came three words
That made me care

I wish we never grew older
Because to this day we wouldn't have problems.
Because three words mean a lot.
It made us feel different about each other,
When at first it was a joke,
But now that we said it,
It becomes a harder relationship,
When those three words hurt sometimes,
I've learned saying I LOVE YOU
Can pull two people apart.

Very thoughtful for some so young! Thank you, I enjoyed your insight.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
