    I Wonder

    I Wonder

Where are the words I grew to love
Were they written by someone from above
    Could these words have been
    From someplace deep within

    Could answers to questions
    Have been found
    In the verses that
    Wound up
    And around

    How will I find
    The answers of a mind
So filled with joy and pain
    Happiness and sorrow
    Perhaps I’ll find an
    Answer tomorrow

    I wish I knew
    What makes me blue
    And where the anger
    Comes from too
    Some parts of days
    Are filled with bliss
    Others are
    Seemingly remiss

    Shadows
    Containing secrets kept
    Lines beyond the edges
    Of the page
    Years to grow
    Becoming adept
    At keeping secrets
    Very sage

    Heartbeats – moments
    Passing by
    Tears in eyes
    That rarely cry

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
