IF I WERE YOU OR YOURS

Poem Commentary

KEEP A POEM IN YOUR HEART AND YOUR SOUL WILL DANCE TO THE BEAT OF THAT PRODIGIOUS DRUMMER FROM AFAR.

IF I WERE YOU OR YOURS

IF,

I WERE

YOU

OR YOURS

If I were you or yours,

Sister, daughter or mother,

All the same,

Would you do by me or mines?

Unlike, another,

Would you care for me or mines?

Not like someone other,

But liken to those who partake in,

Sisterly, daughterly, motherly, love

If I were you or yours,

Could you be me or mines?

Even though, I was some others.

If I were you or yours,

Father, son or brother,

All the same,

Would you do by me or mines?

Unlike, another,

Would you care for me or mines?

Not like someone other,

But liken to those who partake in,

Fatherly, sonly, brotherly, love

If I were you or yours,

Could you be me or mines?

Even though, I was some others.
