    In a Flanders War Cemetery

    A lark.

    Pinpoint of shiny silver sound

    In a perfect azure sky.

    Beneath my feet

The youth of a generation lie in

    Rank and file

    Row on row

    Present and correct.

    They closed their tortured eyes

    To shut out Hell

    For good.

Mine I lift to a blissful heaven

    In wonder at the lark

    Ascending.

Simply magnificent prose...I aspire to be as good a poet as you are.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
