Jesus Wept

You sat there on the toilet with the syringe in your hand,
eyeing it over and over, you debated for at least ten minutes.
Despite the compelling urge to put it down, you did it......

                                                and Jesus wept.

It was only a few items, nothing of great importance to the store;
however, it was dinner for your family.
You could have used your credit card to pay for it.
Instead, you choose not to incur the extra interest charges......

                                                 and Jesus wept.

You stood on the edge of the roof, looking at the city bustling below,
the life you had led to that point became a movie in fast forward.
How simple to turn and go back; back down the stairs to home.
Instinctively, you reached out your hand, a sincere and understanding
smile on your face.

She, who contemplated suicide, took it......

                                                  And Jesus WEPT.
