Kept Hostage

Kept Hostage

SVH

A prison of pressure, all kept inside

And soon enough there are things I can no longer hide

The places you've set, the boundaries you've made

Were way too generous, at least in your words, so you claim

I made my escape, or attempted you could say

And yes, i've survived, lost my heart on the path

All covered in dust, abandoned and abused by your wrath

Something inside of me died horribly that day

That moment you  said go away

I, of course, too angry to submit

Asked questions, all of them made to fit

The situation was at its climax no worse could it get

I strongly suggested you best leave it be

Only, you didn't, stuck to my comments insultingly

Called me names, made me feel quite used

I couldn't go back on everything that was fused

A ticking bomb, bound to explode into a million shards

Untimely, it did, struck me straight in the heart

I gasped for breath, I wheezed my last one

All because you left me, for another “hun”

I don't know how to explain it it happened so fast

But who cares anyways, like you said in the past

Well now I'm involved Im deeply involved

No friendship is the best way this can be solved

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
