Legacy of Love

Poem Commentary

If you were not fortunate enough to experience love as I did as a young child growing up, this poem is in rememberance of my great-grandmother. She was a free-spirited, religious, and lovely person. She loved everybody she came in contact with. I love you granny and I miss you more and more everyday.

Legacy of Love

The journey began so long ago
A beautiful person was created so
Her ability to leave an impression
It left you wondering of her creation
In a definite class of her own
A love seed was surely sewn
Her words were that of nectar honey
Her hugs as endearing as spring day; sunny
A meal prepared for everyday of the week
To compliment her spirit a glass of sweet tea
A smile that would light your soul
A demeanor so inviting and whole
She would never count you out
Always gave you the benefit of the doubt
Her house dress I would look up and tug
She would catch my hand and eye to eye she passed on a Legacy of Love!

So glad to know someone is out there that can understand imagery through poetic expression. Your comment means the world to me. God Bless

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
