    Letting Go

How do I cross that river
when there is no bridge to cross,
I search to find another way
but I am at a loss.

    I feel I'm getting near
to you, I know so well,
I can almost see your face
and yet, I'm still too far to tell.

And then I feel this delicate breeze
    lightly touch my arm,
I turn around to find you there
You say, "I've been here all along.

I've always been here by your side
as you searched with all your being,
and your search had made you realize
It's me that you've been needing.

But now it's time to let me go
So I can spread my wings,
to fly into the lasting glow
so you may hear me sing.
