    Like Mirrors into Your Aspirations

With eyes focused solely on yours,

it becomes evident the complexity of your eyes.

Two distinct colors, green and blue

Intermingled in that ring of infinite interrogations and seemingly idle responses.

With just a brief gaze into the sole of those empowering eyes,

It is as if all of the paradoxes of the world become evident.

A fair blue adrift in that dominant sea of green begins to flicker on and off

Like the faint light in a distant lighthouse.

This light is no stranger to those damaging waves.

The gleam in your eyes has been absent for an insurmountable span of time.

Now that the fog is clearing from all surroundings of the lighthouse,

The reflection in your eyes is able to clear all conflict.

Your eyes, the mirrors into your aspirations, have been demanding guidance.

Your adolescence need not be cured by speech, but with eye contact.

For eye contact ensures a sense of security and understanding.

Without it how can you possibly study those aspirations enough to decipher

Which of those mirrors in the fun house holds the door to higher knowledge?

Wouldn't you just be stuck in those reckless teen years forever?

Making faces in the mirrors, walking by each one to see which one makes you look the skinniest,

    Or the most attractive.

You will run into mirrors in life that will lie to you,

But it will only prepare you for your future.

A future with the hardest years of your life put behind you

And all it took to get there was a little bit of eye contact, from somebody who believed in you,

who allowed you to look into their eyes,

And see reflections of their mistakes and experiences so you were able to learn from them

The eyes, window to the soul. The eyes tell you truths that would nrver be told otherwise. It sounds like you looked beyond the mirrors and fou so much more. Great use of literary desription. oug

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
