Making Amends

Poem Commentary

I have pushed a lot of good and undeserving people out of my life thinking that I was not good enough to be in theirs. Afraid that I would hurt them I ran away and hurt them even worse. I AM sorry!!!

Making Amends

I allowed my fears,
the things I was taught
to enter in
and affect  my thought

I feigned my strength
put on a smile
and we walked together
for a little while

When things got hard
and my troubles began
Oh my Lord,
I turned and ran

I hurt you when
you were left behind
My friend, I'm sorry
I was out of my mind

I'm writing now
making my feelings known
I love you more
than I have shown

I am sorry my friend
for committing this sin
and pray to God
you let me back in
