    • my past has torn me apart, the present is driving me crazy, my future scares me to death!

    Mine

To be mine, you will never be.
What I would give to call you mine.
To be hers, you will always be.
What I would give to call you mine.
To be us, there will someday be.
What I would give to call you mine.
What will never be, will always be, and will someday be.
What I would give to call you mine?
    What wouldn't I give.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
