mistake

Look into my deep brown eyes,
and don't be surprised if you
realize I seen through all your lies.
When you kiss these sexy luscious lips
or place your hands upon my thick caramel hips,
don't be surprise if I don't respond
like all the other times.
You lied and cheated
and baby please believe I feel totally defeated.
What we had you mistreated and left me superheated.
Yet, I can't hate because the intimacy
between us was once great.
It's just a little to late
for you to state it was a SIMPLE
mistake.

I can really relate to this poem. I could also feel the anger coming through. Very well written.

Thank You!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
