moving on

moving on

It all had to be a dream,
with me just standing here holding out my hands.
Trying so hard to reach for you,
never once did you look to see me.
You kept looking forward,
going toward what was infront of you.
Never once looking back.
Soon I understood with so much pain,
that I was your past.
You were moving on.
So here I stand with my path before me,
lined with all the shadows of my doubts.
Do I dare to walk it?
This path lined with shadows within shadows.
I must, I need, I will for it it mine and soon I will not need you.

If only it could be a bad dream, great write you've shared, certainly you'll walk the right path... SBear

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
