    MY HEARTS DESIRE

    MY EYES HAVE A GLARE

    MY LIPS DON'T MOVE

    MY HEART SKIPS A BEAT

    THINKING WHOM I MAY LOSE

    I STARE INTO SPACE

    SHAME ON MY FACE

    THINKING WHAT I'VE DONE

TO YOU WHO I SAY IS THE ONE

TO HAVE YOU IS MORE THAN FINE

TO TOUCH YOU IS SO DIVINE

TO KISS YOUR LIPS IS SUCH A TREAT

TO LOOK AT YOU I SAY "LETS EAT"

    MY BODY ACHES WITH DESIRE

STARING AT YOU MY SOUL IS ON FIRE

KNEES KNOCKING THE SOUND SO LOUD

GAZING WISHING I WAS FLOATING ON A CLOUD

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
