My old playmate

Hola, Mi Amigo!

Welcome home after

So long

Have you missed

Staying up late

Tossing

Turning

Midnight tears

Hidden emotions

Lost

Lonely

Afraid

Dear Friend,

My precious Depression

How I have yearned for your

Inspiration

Validation

That you give in return for your company

Secret friend

Why have you returned?

Have you missed our dance?

DO I call out to you in my sleep?

Am I keeping secrets from myself, again?

Ah, my friend

How long we have been apart.

How familiar you seem

How Real I feel

With the depth you bring

The Darkness for which you thrive

Each moment so pure

Each feeling so weighted

Do you come with presents in hand?

Doubt

Desperation

And you wrapped in it in fear

Oh thank you for this time of reflection!

How thoughtful you are to inspire the truth

Come lead me

This is our song!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
