    Poem Commentary

How can she be naive.. of all people I looked up and respected the most.. but as I grew older I finally realized... she's human.. and not perfect.. I accpect it.. and I love her more for that.

    oh mommy

I keep thinking that one day you will see..
The love that was once a fairytale can never ever be..
The many times you've cried has not even phased you..
You continue on in limbo as if he is the one who created you..
The many nights alone with a cold pillow to squeeze...
While he is out clubbing with anyone he pleases..
I don't get what power he has over your heart..
But one day you will give up and your soul will be torn apart..
All the times you laughed don't compare to all your tears..
Even after loving this man for so many years..
I always tell you that love can be jaded..
And all you ever dwell on is what happend and how it faded..
Irregardless how it happend, he will always break your heart...
because he didn't know how to love you from the start...
For you have such a beautiful everything to settle for this man..
Leaving him is the only way he could ever understand..
I don't know where the love is or where it has gone...
But I know one thing that time is moving on..
Try to remember what it is like when you fell in love..
Was this man the same person when push came to shove?
I hope one day your eyes will open because you seem so blind..
Maybe you can stop hurting and have some peace of mind.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
