    OLD MAN

He tromps around a dream to be a clown.
    He makes the children happy.

But he is only an old man
with a dream to understand how he use to be so happy.

Happy as to fly a kite, feel the breeze, a breeze of the past.

Pass me not oh smiles for I want your sunshine too!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
