    One

    Where did you come from?
    I wasn't looking for a friend…
But the Lord, with His relentless love for ME, He sent ONE.

I opened a door, and there you stood…
Funny, you didn't appear to be looking for a friend, either.
But the Lord, with His unconditional love for YOU, He sent ONE.

Then again, I ask myself, "Where did you come from?"
One year later, it’s so easy to see…
The laughter we've shared... music to everyone's ears…
The tears that we've cried, though not many… we've wiped away, one for the other.

Yes, I see it, now... don't you!?
The Lord with His infinite love for US, He sent just ONE!
One sister for me and one sister for you!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
