    OUR FUTILE QUEST AT LIFE.

    Having been running for so long,i at times feel it's been longer than i know.
    Maybe since i came before,but i am not faint.
    I try to remember the beginning,but i cannot look back;the end too far to see.
    Yet,i run for a reason i do not know.
    I am not alone,i guess,but i see myself only;
    Others i think may think the same.
    I wish to stop,yes;but i dont know how nor when.
    Do i then run by my will?
    I think if i stop,then i have stopped.Everything stops and am no more.
    Oh,perhaps for fear of this i endlessly run,from it,for it,to it,in it.
    And my Savior has come,beside him i seat,in him.
    I look down and now see running,their throng in torn thongs.
    Until they looked up,the are running.

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
