Our Minds

I know you heard the expression

A minds is a terrible thing to waste

Then how come so many of us

choose to not use it the right way

We abuse it until we no longer make use of it

To Elevate and become a part of change

To Intrigue others and make them proud we came

Because our ancestors did not die in vain

What ever happened to self education

Our voices being the trump of this nation

We need to take care of each other

Instead of fighting and killing one another

My mother and father taught me

That no one can take what I've learned

Sometimes I think that I'm too strong

But needless to say I will never fall

My brother, your brain is your power

Dont sit in silence, Let it be known who you are

A king, A queen and that you deserve everything

because God son has already paid for our sins

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
